This is one of my furnishing designs printed onto fabric for my final degree show!

Degree show, Wallpaper pieces!

These are wallpaper pieces for my final degree show, which are part of the same collection as my furnishing fabrics, using the same plant theme.

main inspiration!

Angie Lewin as been one of my main inspirations for my final project! These are some of her designs above. I love the style of the flowers and the mixture of balck and colour, and how the designs show growth and movement which i wanted to create for my designs. Check out more of Angie Lewins work here   http://www.angielewin.co.uk/

final designs for degree show!

These are my final designs for my degree show. Here i have used flowers and the stain glass inspiration to create designs for contemporary interior fabrics.

stained glass

I've been looking at stained glass windows and flower shapes within them for inspiration for my current project these are just a few i like for shape and colour they have used in them.

Agustina Woodgate

These rugs by Agustina Woodgate are amazing and really made me think about my own work. Even though i'm not doing textiles the way the rugs are put together brings out shapes that can be interpreted as flowers which is what i'm trying to do and bring out within my own work.

ceramic inspiration

I love these ceramics, as i'm thinking of doing ceramics for my final degree show these have really inspired me and gave me ideas off i can fit my stain glass flowers designs into ceramics. They've helped me think about the scale and placement and how i want the plates to look.

stain glass flowers

I've been investigating flowers and different ways of drawing them, i like that they look like stain glass images and less like basic flower shapes. Been using different colour schemes and mixing them with the black outlined twines and flower stems.

egg time

Love these ceramic designs by donna wilson. I'm wanting to do ceramics for my final project at university. I love the playful fun side of these and the simple use of colour and shape.

I've started drawing silhouette birds with flowing twines. I wanted to create the idea of movement and rhythm in my designs, then placed the coloured flowers to soften the design.

studio work

This is some of my current work which i have just finished based on my project of british birds and florals. I used Mattise inspired colours for the brights and used a naive drawing style by drawing everything freehand with out use of pencil. I also took the idea into monochrome using black, white and greys with a hint of colour. All these designs were made for interiors and aimed at the current domestic market. These designs have just been entered into the bradford textile society competition.

colour splash!

love the colour of these designs by design bark. love the way the shapes form into bird shapes and the graphic style merged with delicate line bird drawings.

Mattise inspired designs
